DR. PRISCILA ARAUJO

Bio

I was born in Brazil and there I graduated in Biological Sciences at the Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhona e Mucuri (2009-2013). After graduation, I did a master’s degree at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (2014-2016). There I studied the effect of the frequency and amplitude produced by bees during buzz-pollination on pollen removal from Solanum lycopersicum flowers. I did my doctorate at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2017-2021). During this time, I studied the behaviour and visual morphology of crepuscular bees.

I started my post-doc at Stockholm University in 2022. Here I am studying the roles of the DRA and the ocelli in polarized light detection in bumblebees using a combination of anatomical investigations, modelling and behavioural experiments.
